The Community College Initiative Program is designed to support Pakistani young professionals at accredited U.S. community colleges for one year of non-degree study. Programs are being offered in the following fields: Agriculture, Applied Engineering, Business Management and Administration, Media, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Public Safety (Rescue/Disaster Management Services) and Early Childhood Education. The applicants must be resident in Pakistan, currently employed in one of the fields listed above, have 14-15 years of education (2-year Bachelors), English language proficiency, potential to have a positive impact on Pakistan’s future development and demonstrated leadership. Participants spend one academic year in the United States and earn certificates in their fields of study. After completing the program, participants return home with new skills and expertise to help them contribute to the economic growth and development of Pakistan.

Fulbright Scholar Program

The Fulbright Scholar Program funds up to 12 months of lectureship, post-doctoral research, or a combination of the two at a U.S. college or university with one fully covered dependent. Persons selected are expected to share information about Pakistani society and culture with students, colleagues and community groups in the U.S. On returning to Pakistan, Fulbright scholars are expected to make a significant contribution to Pakistan's development and share their U.S. experiences with students, colleagues and community groups in Pakistan. The grant funds airfare, an incidental research allowance, a living stipend and health insurance. USEFP will assist with visa application process.

Eligibility Criteria
Scholars, professionals and artists from all disciplines are welcome to apply, with the exception of clinical medicine. Every applicant must either hold Ph.D. or terminal degree in his/her field. Successful candidates will have an excellent command of written and spoken English. They will have a clear and well-formulated proposal about what they would like to accomplish in the U.S. and how it relates to their work in Pakistan. The proposal is the most important single portion of the application. People applying for the lectureship must have demonstrated ability to teach in a university setting.
Ineligibility
  • Persons who have completed their Ph.D. within the last two years or who have been to the U.S. for research or other long term educational opportunities within the last five years.
  • Persons with a dual U.S./Pakistan nationality or who have a spouse, fiancé, parent or child over 18 year of age who is U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Employees and dependents of USEFP, or the U.S. Department of State.
  • Persons already studying in the U.S. or on a work/residence visa in any country.

Pakistan Scottish Scholarship Scheme

The Scottish Government is providing scholarship opportunities for young women from disadvantaged backgrounds to study at Masters Level in Pakistani Universities and is delighted to be supporting this scheme which is helping women in Pakistan achieve their potential and ambitions, helping to build a secure future for themselves and their families.
British Council Pakistan will administer the scheme in Pakistan and directly coordinate with the selected scholars and universities.
THE AWARD:
Pakistan Scottish Scholarship Scheme will facilitate award-holders with the following incentives:
  • Tuition fee for Masters’ courses
  • University hostel costs
  • Subsistence to the award holder
  • In case of a hostelite; travel to and from home to university three times a year
SUBJECT AREAS:
The scholarship will cover a Master’s degree at any HEC-recognised university of Pakistan in one of the following subject areas:
  • Sustainable Energy
  • Food Security and Agriculture
  • Education
  • Health Sciences
ELIGIBILITY:
The following criteria must be met to be considered eligible for the scholarship:
  • Only female applicants can apply
  • Applicant should be a Pakistani national, currently residing in Pakistan
  • Undertaking a one or two-year Masters’ programme only
  • Applicant should hold a confirmed offer from a HEC-recognised university in Pakistan

    Tomorrows Peacebuilders Global Awards for Peacebuilding Organizations

    Tomorrow’s Peacebuilders are the global awards for local peacebuilding. Peace Direct is accepting accepting for Tomorrow’s Peacebuilders Awards. The Tomorrow’s Peacebuilders awards were launched in 2013 by Peace Direct. It is awarded annually and offers international recognition for grassroots peace activists in conflict-affected countries worldwide.
    Prizes:
    Three winning organisations will each receive $10,000, an invitation to attend a winners’ event in London, and online promotion of their work. They will be chosen from one of the five categories below – WomenYouth,EnvironmentInter-Religious, and Arts.
    Eligibility:
    These are global awards. There is no geographical restriction on applications. In order to be eligible to enter, participant must:

    Applications are invited for Peace Revolution fellowship that provides 14 days intensive training program. Fellowship provides participants with deeper insight in the relationship between inner peace and sustainable world peace and enhancing their ability to create peace within their family, professional and social environment. The fellowship will take place at Mooktawan Sanctuary in an island at the southern part of Thailand.     EURIAS Fellowship Programme for International Researchers, 2016-2017

    The European Institutes for Advanced Study (EURIAS) is offering 43 international fellowships (22 junior and 22 senior positions) in Humanities and Social sciences. The Fellowship Programme is an international researcher mobility programme offering 10-month residencies in one of the 16 participating Institutes. All IAS have agreed on common standards, including the provision of a living allowance (in the range of €26,000 for a junior fellow and €38,000 for a senior fellow), accommodation (or a mobility allowance), a research budget, plus coverage of travel expenses. Applications should be submitted till June 5, 2015.
    Study Subject(s): EURIAS Fellowships are mainly offered in the fields of the humanities and social sciences but may also be granted to scholars in life and exact sciences, provided that their proposed research project does not require laboratory facilities and that it interfaces with humanities and social sciences.
    Course Level: Fellowships are for pursuing research programme.
    Scholarship Provider: The European Institutes for Advanced Study (EURIAS)

    Eligibility:
    Degree: At the time of the application, researchers must be in possession of a doctoral degree plus 2 years of full-time research experience after the degree. Exception is made for Law scholars who are eligible with a Master +6 years of full-time research experience after the degree. (PhD training is not considered in the calculation of experience).
    Mobility: Researchers from all countries are eligible to the programme but one cannot apply to an institute located in his/her country of residence. Exception is made for applicants who have spent no more than 12 months in their country of residence during the last three years prior to the application.
    Disciplines: The programme is open to all disciplines in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
    It also welcomes applications from the arts, life and exact sciences provided that:
    -the research project does not require any intensive laboratory work,
    -the research project interfaces with humanities and social sciences,
    -the applicant has a proven capacity to dialogue with other scientific disciplines,
    -the candidate applies to an IAS that welcome scholars outside the humanities and social sciences.
    Applicants are strongly encouraged to check the IAS’ websites to learn more about the scientific orientation of the Institutes and their potential opening to disciplines outside the humanities and social sciences.

    Selection Criteria: The selection of applicants who are eligible for a fellowship is competitive, merit-based and conducted through an internationally independent and recognized peer review process. It meets the highly demanding excellence standards of the participating Institutes for Advanced Study. The EURIAS Fellowship Programme undertakes a detailed qualitative assessment according to the following criteria:
    (i) Scientific excellence of the applicant: career path; international experience; quality of publications; capacity to carry out the research proposal and ability to forge beyond disciplinary specialisation
    (ii) Quality of the research proposal: innovative and path-breaking quality of the proposal; connexion to current debates and literature; sound theoretical and methodological framework; feasibility of the work programme; interdisciplinary potential of the research proposal; expected output and significance of the proposal for the international academic community
    (iii) Relevance of an IAS residency: expected impact of the invitation on the research project; applicant’s ability to interact with IAS international and multidisciplinary communities; expected impact of the fellowship on training and career development and proven language capacity (most IAS operate in an English-language environment, but research can be conducted in any language, and language diversity is welcome).
    Notification: Results of the pre-selection by EURIAS Scientific Committee will be announced by Mid-November, 2015 and Publication of IAS final selections will be in Mid-January, 2016.
    Online Application: Applications are submitted online. In order to provide evaluators with relevant information to perform their work efficiently, EURIAS fellowship applicants have to submit (in English exclusively):
    -The completed EURIAS application form;
    -A curriculum comprising a list of publications;
    -A detailed research proposal (maximum 5 pages / 10,000 signs -spaces not included- and a bibliography – maximum 1 additional page);
    -For candidates applying for junior fellowships, two letters of recommendation;
    -Publications in a pdf format (2 for juniors, 5 for seniors) in case publications are in another language than English, an English-written abstract is requested;
    -Copy of the PhD diploma in a pdf format -if the writing system/scrip used in the diploma is not Latin (but, for example, Cyrillic, Chinese, Arabic or some other), a Latin script university certificate or official translation is requested;
    -Applicants are required to specify the following in their proposals;
    -Applicants are required to indicate up to three IAS as the most adequate host institutions in the order of preference and to justify their choices.
