The British Council in Pakistan offers internships to students every summer ranging in duration from six to eight weeks. Students get a hands-on experience of what it is like to work in UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. The British Council
The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries. Country Operation
We have been in Pakistan for over sixty years, and during that time we have developed deep and lasting relationships with individuals and organisations. We have re-opened Libraries as convening spaces, content hubs and information services that support our wider strategy in Pakistan.
In Pakistan we operate at scale supporting 500,000 exams a year, working with over 150,000 teachers and all Higher Education Institutions. We have ambitious plans for Arts, further work in English – especially in Sindh and KPK building on our success in the Punjab.  We aim to do this through delivery of services using a range of channels including more digital avenues.

Internship programme at WHO



WHO is committed to building future leaders in public health and WHO’s internship programme provides a wide range of opportunities for graduate and postgraduate students to gain insight into the work of WHO.

Objectives of the programme

The objectives of the internship programme are to:
  • provide a framework for assigning students from diverse academic backgrounds to WHO programmes, where their educational experience can be enhanced through practical assignments;
  • expose students to the work of WHO; and
  • provide WHO programmes with input from students specializing in various fields. Most students are placed in health-related programmes, although other disciplines can be considered as appropriate.

Eligibility criteria

WHO may accept applications from those who meet all of the following conditions:
  • The applicant is at least 20 years of age on the date of application.
  • The applicant is enrolled in a course of study at a university or equivalent institution leading to a formal qualification (graduate or postgraduate). Applicants who apply for an internship within six months of completion of their formal qualification may also be considered.
  • The applicant has completed three years of full-time study at a university or equivalent institution prior to commencing the internship.
  • The intern is available for a minimum of six weeks and a maximum of three months. Exceptionally, through the approvals of the Head of the Technical Unit and the Director of the Division the internship period may be extended up to six months to respond to special academic requirements or particular needs of the receiving programme.
  • The applicant is fluent in at least one of the working languages of the office of the assignment.
  • The applicant is not related to a WHO staff member as defined in staff rule 410.3 (e.g., son/daughter, brother/sister, or mother/father).
  • The applicant has not previously participated in WHO’s internship programme.

Conditions of internship

WHO internships are not paid. Travel costs, travel arrangements, including visas, and living accommodation are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsoring institution.

The UniCredit International Internship Program 2017

The competition offers grants to students for a summer internship abroad at UniCredit, in any of the following countries: Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey.

The internship will take place during the Summer 2017.

Each winner will receive a grant of €700 per month after tax for the entire duration of the internship abroad. In addition, the Foundation will pay the winners a fixed amount of €1,000 for travel, visa or any other expenses.

Internships & Traineeships

The United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS) offers students with a demonstrated interest and background in regional integration studies the opportunity to take part in the activities of the Institute. Traineeships and Internships are respectively intended for undergraduate and graduate students.

Traineeship Programme

Selection Criteria

Applicants must:
  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor programme or holder of a Bachelor degree;
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in regional integration studies and specifically in the aspects related to the Monitoring and Supervision of Regional Integration processes;
  • Be eager to contribute to the research projects and activities of the Institute;
  • Thrive under pressure and be able to act quickly and efficiently;
  • Possess excellent English communicating and writing skills;
  • Be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Be available for a minimum duration of three months up to a maximum of six months.

Trainees’ Responsibilities

Traineeship positions fall under the research programme Monitoring and Assessing Regional Integration. Traineeship projects consist in working on the Regional Integration Knowledge System (RIKS). In a nutshell, the RIKS platform provides direct access to information and data on regional integration processes worldwide.
The duties of UNU-CRIS Trainees involve:
  • Update of the RIKS database and other research tasks related to the Monitoring and Assessing Regional Integration research programme;
  • Assistance in administrative and other tasks, as needed;
  • Presentation of the work performed during the research stay at one of the research brunches, which are informal gatherings bringing together UNU-CRIS researchers.
Besides, trainees are welcome to take part in seminars, workshops, conferences and other events organised by UNU-CRIS, including informal briefings and roundtable discussions.

Facilities and Services

Office space, computer facilities and access to the libraries of UNU-CRIS and the College of Europe are provided. While traineeships and internship are non-remunerated, travel costs incurred by the attendance of any UNU-CRIS related events are reimbursed.
In addition, Bruges’ favourable location close to Brussels provides direct access to the seat of the European Union and other international organisations, as well as a number of universities and research centres based in the Belgian capital.
Although admitted candidates are required to arrange their own travel, housing and health insurance, UNU-CRIS will provide advice and support to help facilitate the search process.

Application Procedure

The next deadline for applications is 15 May 2017. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted at the end of May 2017 or in the beginning of June 2017 at the latest.
Interested candidates shall submit their application to Mr. Ewout Ramon.
Applications must include:
  • A curriculum vitae;
  • A letter of motivation (mentioning the expected period of stay);
  • A letter of recommendation.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.

International Youth Friendship Camp 2017 in Bali, Indonesia

Organizer: ASEAN Youth Friendship Network.
Applications are invited for the International Youth Friendship Camp #4 (IYFCamp) which will be held on March 13 – 18, 2017 in Bali, Indonesia. IYF is a platform camp to unite and meet young generation to have meaningful experiences by doing some valuable activities. After successfully organizing the first IYFCamp in 2013, took place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and the second IYFCamp in Bali last February 2016, AYFN will hold the fourth IYFCamp. This camp focuses on international friendship, social awareness and cultural exchange. IYFCamp will take place on 13-18 March 2017in Bali, Indonesia.
Eligibility:
  • Youth (15 – 25 years old) and all nationalities;
  • Good health (physically and mentally);
  • Good communication skill and knowledge;
  • Able to work independently as well as work in team;
  • Able to pay the camp fee;
  • Able to commit to a full-time program.
