 Danish institutions offering Long-Term Scholarships in Denmark

Application deadline
The application deadline for the 2017/18 academic year is March 1, 2017.

The Long-Term Scholarships:

The Danish Government Scholarships under the Cultural Agreements are aimed at highly qualified exchange students wishing to immerse themselves in studies of the Danish language and culture or other fields of study related to Denmark.
Scholarships are offered to exchange students from higher education institutions in the following countries:
China
Japan
Israel
Egypt
Russia
Republic of Korea

Scholarships are only available to master’s and ph.d.-level students. However, bachelor's degree students wishing to study Danish language and literature can also apply if they have studied the Danish language for two years.
Please note that scholarships are only offered to students enrolled in full-degree studies at higher education institutions in the countries listed above.
Ph.d. students must likewise be employed at, or affiliated with, higher education institutions in the above-mentioned countries.
Applications from candidates affiliated with higher education institutions in countries other than those listed will not be taken into consideration.
General information
Scholarship period
Scholarships are tenable during the academic year. The autumn term begins on September 1st, the spring term on February 1st.
With respect to residence permits and/or visa, we recommend that accepted applicants contact the Danish diplomatic representation in their home country well in advance of their entry into Denmark.
Scholarship amount
Scholarships include free tuition and a monthly stipend of DKK 6,500.
Some Danish higher education institutions may choose to charge Ph.D. students a course fee in conjunction with enrollment in Ph.D. courses.
Danish Government Scholarships can be used to cover travel, visa, accomodation, food, and other living expenses. The scholarships are for one person only. Additional amounts for accompanying family members are not available.
Participants may be liable to pay tax on their scholarship in the Kingdom of Denmark. Therefore, scholarship recipients should contact the local tax authorities for an individual assessment. In the event that the Danish tax authorities decide that a scholarship is taxable, the Agency for Science and Higher Education has no power to overturn the decision.

Language of instruction
Danish is the normal language of instruction at institutions of higher education in Denmark, but more and more institutions offer courses in English or in another foreign language or have special arrangements for non-Danish students.
Further information on courses in other languages must be obtained directly from institutions.

ARTOOL MARKET - art for intercultural dialogue

Seminar / Conference13-19 March 2017 | Palermo, Italy

The international seminar “Artool Market” has the main aim of developing the skills of European organizations and informal groups in facilitating processes of prevention of discrimination, intercultural dialogue and cohesive societies.
The international seminar “Artool Market” has the main aim of developing the skills of European organizations and informal groups facilitating processes of prevention of discrimination, intercultural dialogue and cohesive societies, with the creation of resources and space for cooperation available for other organizations all over Europe.
Specific objectives:
• To share perspectives on migration phenomenon depending on different European contexts and diverse way of valorizing it as an oppurtunity of developing within the diversity
• to develop the quality and variety of tools and methodologies based on art in the field of intercultural dialogue, anti – discrimination, inclusion of migrants and peacebuilding processes, fostering the competences of youth organizations and informal groups in creating and using them
• to create a network of organizations that will cooperate in a long term prospective on this topic becoming a resource for the other organizations all over Europe.
This international activity will be held from 13 to 19 of March 2017 and is targeted to 20 youth workers, trainers, staff members working with migrants and/or having a migrant background. The international meeting has been thought as market of tools and open workshops facilitated by experts, trainers and youth workers experienced in migration, intercultural dialogue, discrimination, racism, able to use art as a facilitation process.
The main output of this meeting will be represented by an online video toolkit with clear descriptions which will provide more insights on how to use the shared tools and methodologies and will enrich a Museum of Migration and Human Rights in a confiscated property to Mafia given to CEIPES in Palermo and its online collection, being at disposal of all organizations around Europe. The video toolkit will consist of educational videos of the tools shared during the Artool Market, spoken language will be English. Each organization will be filmed giving a very detailed version on the objectives, activities, target groups and tips of the tool.
FOLLOW – UP
It will be requested to the partners to use the toolkit where they will consider more needed (schools, migrant centres, university, municipalities, etc…) and to deliver at least one workshop or other type of local actions with migrants in their communities. 
It will be asked the cooperation of the partner organizations to translate the toolkit to two or more languages, in order to be more accessible at local level.
This Seminar is the first phase of a long-term project: Mandala – meeting is an art, which will realize a second activity involving migrants who will deliver workshops in local schools in the province of Palermo.
As established by Council of Europe, the age limit to participate in the project is 30 (there will be space for 5 people over 30 years old). The gender balance will be ensured by trying to select an equal number of female and male participants.
