Government of Pakistan Ministry of Communications NATIONAL HIGHWAYS & MOTORWAY POLICE  VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT 

To ensure transparency, fairness & merit, National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) has assigned the responsibility of conducting recruitment process (physical test, skill test, interview and driving proficiency test) to Balochistan Testing Service (BTS) to fill 400 vacant posts of Junior Patrol Officers (BS-05), Applications are invited from suitable Pakistani National candidates (Male/Female & Minorities) to fill these vacant posts in NH&MP according to the following Provincial/Regional, Women & Minority Quota as laid down by the Federal Government. 
 
 
Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification, Physical Requirements
 
I. Intermediate (EA/ F.Sc or equivalent) from recognized board (minimum 2nd Division) .
ii. Minimum height for male candidates 5' x 8"
iii. Minimum height for female candidates 5'x4"
iv. Minimum height for the candidates belonging to Balochistan Province for male 5'x6" and for female 55:3"
v. Chest measurements 33"x35" for male candidates (relaxable by 1 " on both sides)
vi. Car and Motorcycle driving proficiency (to be tested). 
Age Limit 18-25 Years on closing date i.e 16-06-2016 
 
How to Apply: 
 
Attested copies of following documents shall be attached withApplication Form:- 
Academic certificates Metric, FA/F.Sc or equivalent and other (if any).
ii. CNIC
iii. Domicile certificate/ Local residence certificate.
iv. 02 recent passport size photographs with blue background.
v. Affidavit duly countersigned by District Coordination Officer (DCO) in case of applying against minorities (Non-Muslim) •uota. 
Government employees up to the age of 25 years shall submit the NOC from concerned department alongwith their applications.

ii. Please deposit Recruitment processing fee Rs. 500/- through the prescribed deposit slip in the online branches of Bank Alfalah, NBP, UBL and Soneri Bank. Applications will not be acceptable if deposit slip receipt (in original) is not attached.
iii. Please complete the Application form in all respects and send, alongwith relevant documents by courier / registered mail to: BTS Headquarter, H.No. 146/528-A, Club Road, Quetta Cantt, Balochistan (Help Line 081-9201966). Incomplete applications, applications received after closing date and applications submitted by hand will not be entertained. 
 
General Instructions: 
 
1. Physical Test will include Height/Chest Measurement and Running Speed & Stamina. Candidates are advised to bring their own joggers and bottle of drinking water.
2. Short listed candidates will be required to compete in skill test, driving test & interview.
3. At the time of final selection, candidate will be examined by the authorized Civil Surgeon of the Federal Government.
4. Character verification and background check of selected candidates will be conducted, in case of any unsatisfactory information or criminal record, selection shall stand withdrawn /cancelled immediately.
5. Original documents shall be verified as per the information provided in application form. If any information is found false/incorrect at any stage, the applicant (even if employed) on such false/incorrect information, shall be liable to dismiss from service as well as legal proceedings will also be initiated against him.
6. Candidates from all the districts, provinces/regions of Pakistan are advised to send their applications by courier / registered mail to BTS Headquarter H. No. 146/528-A, Club Road, Quetta Cantt, Balochistan (Help Line: 081-9201966).

Commonwealth Professional Fellowships

Commonwealth Professional Fellowships are offered by the CSC for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries. These fellowships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth.
Commonwealth Professional Fellowships support mid-career professionals from developing countries to spend a period of time at a UK host organisation working in their field for a programme of professional development.
Purpose: To provide professionals with the opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills in their given sector, and to have catalytic effects on their workplaces.
Intended beneficiaries: Mid-career professionals (with five years’ relevant work experience) working in development-related organisations in developing Commonwealth countries.
Key features
The CSC is keen to encourage creative and flexible applications for Commonwealth Professional Fellowships from a wide range of sectors – professional, charitable, public, and private. Priority will be given to applications with practical relevance in the following broadly-defined areas:
  • Agriculture / fisheries / forestry
  • Economic growth
  • Education
  • Engineering / science / technology
  • Environment
  • Governance
  • Public health
Applications for Commonwealth Professional Fellowships must adhere to the following rules:
  • Fellowships should normally be between one and three months in length. Applications for longer periods (up to a maximum of six months) will be considered, but only when a strong case for the additional time has been made. Fellowships should be long enough to enable the serious development of professional skills, so the CSC will not consider applications for fellowships with a duration of less than one month.
  • Applications should include a clear programme of professional experience and exchange for mid-career professionals. Visits to, and periods of experience with, relevant UK organisations are particularly encouraged. Attendance at short courses or conferences during the fellowship is acceptable, providing that this can be justified within the selection criteria and that attendance is not the main focus of the fellowship.
  • Fellowships should be UK-based for their full duration.
  • Organisations can apply to host/nominate up to ten Fellows in one year, with no more than six in any round. The CSC will decide on the actual number of Fellows to be supported.
  • Applications will not be considered from candidates who are undertaking a course of full-time study at the time of application; seeking assistance towards the cost of commencing or completing a formal academic or professional qualification; or wishing to undertake an academic programme or research of any kind in the UK. Applications presenting an academic research proposal or plan will be considered ineligible.
  • Candidates who have previously taken a leave of absence to study or work abroad in a developed country should make an additional case for why they should be considered for a fellowship in the UK and make clear what they have gained from their previous experience.

Pakistan USAID Merit and Needs Based Scholarships

Applicants from Pakistan are invited to apply for USAID Funded merit and needs-based scholarship program. Scholarships are available to pursue undergraduate & graduate level in all disciplines at the selected 31 Pakistani universities and degree awarding institutions.
The Pak-USAID Merit and Needs Based Scholarship Program Phase-II are focused on providing opportunities for access to higher education especially to underprivileged candidates who, despite possessing academic merit, are unable to finance their education.
Higher Education Commission (HEC) aims to elevate the socio-economic position of the needy & deserving students by providing access to quality education through needs-based scholarships.
Students need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.
Course Level: USAID scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and graduate degree at selected participating Pakistani Universities/institutions.
Study Subject: USAID scholarships are awarded in the field of Business Administration, Agriculture and Veterinary Science, Medical/Nursing, Social Science and Engineering and Technology.
Scholarship Award: Comprehensive scholarship offered under this program provides funds for the following expenses: Tuition Fee, Lodging, Transportation, Books and Other Academics Costs. Lodging, books, transportation, and other academic costs covered under the stipend for the students. The stipend amount varies from university to university (area to area).
Scholarship can be taken at Pakistan

  • The applicant must be Pakistani/AJK National.

  • Students need to get admission in any one of the approved disciplines (Agriculture & Veterinary sciences, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Engineering & Tech. and Medical) at the participating Universities/Institutions as per their admission criteria.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: BASELINE FOR HIMALICA PROJECT

The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) is a private, non-profit company, established by the Aga Khan Foundation in 1982 to help improve the quality of life of the villagers of Gilgit, Baltistan and Chitral.
AKRSP for the ICIMOD funded Himalica Project seeks Expression of Interest from highly qualified firms to establish a baseline by using rigorous evaluation design for a pilot intervention. The intervention aims at increasing community resilience through livelihoods diversification by focusing on upgrading and sustaining selected value chains (Yak and Seabuckthorn) that offer best prospects for livelihoods improvement in selected pilot areas in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program brings accomplished mid-career professionals with demonstrated leadership potential to the United States for a year of graduate-level non-degree academic coursework and professional development activities. This ten month program consists of academic coursework and internship in a relevant professional organization. By providing future leaders and policy makers with experience in U.S society, culture, and professional fields, the program provides a basis for lasting, productive ties between Americans and their professional counter parts overseas. Approximately 18 campuses have been selected through a competitive process to host fellows in group with thematic and subject affinities. Each university is chosen based on institutional resources and the level of support and guidance it offers for academic and administrative support. Faculty advisers also assist Fellows in pursuing balanced academic and professional programs. All participants must return to Pakistan immediately following completion of their program.

The CSC is keen to encourage creative and flexible applications for Commonwealth Professional Fellowships from a wide range of sectors – professional, charitable, public, and private. Priority will be given to applications with practical relevance in the following broadly-defined areas:
  • Agriculture / fisheries / forestry
  • Economic growth
  • Education
  • Engineering / science / technology
  • Environment
  • Governance
  • Public health
Applications for Commonwealth Professional Fellowships must adhere to the following rules:
  • Fellowships should normally be between one and three months in length. Applications for longer periods (up to a maximum of six months) will be considered, but only when a strong case for the additional time has been made. Fellowships should be long enough to enable the serious development of professional skills, so the CSC will not consider applications for fellowships with a duration of less than one month.
  • Applications should include a clear programme of professional experience and exchange for mid-career professionals. Visits to, and periods of experience with, relevant UK organisations are particularly encouraged. Attendance at short courses or conferences during the fellowship is acceptable, providing that this can be justified within the selection criteria and that attendance is not the main focus of the fellowship.
  • Fellowships should be UK-based for their full duration.
  • Organisations can apply to host/nominate up to ten Fellows in one year, with no more than six in any round. The CSC will decide on the actual number of Fellows to be supported.
  • Applications will not be considered from candidates who are undertaking a course of full-time study at the time of application; seeking assistance towards the cost of commencing or completing a formal academic or professional qualification; or wishing to undertake an academic programme or research of any kind in the UK. Applications presenting an academic research proposal or plan will be considered ineligible.
  • Candidates who have previously taken a leave of absence to study or work abroad in a developed country should make an additional case for why they should be considered for a fellowship in the UK and make clear what they have gained from their previous experience.
